It is a story of a young city girl named Sylvia, who came to live with her grandmother in the country. Sylvia's only friends are birds and animals. But then one day a stanger comes. He is a new friend, but he likes to kill birds. He is seeking to find a rare bird he has heard has been spotted in the area. When he knows that Sylvia know much about birds, so he ask her about a little white heron. He will pay ten dollors to somebody who help him find the bird. She wanted to be his friend and to love him but she cannot tell its story and give its life away.
