SULTAN AHMAD MOSQUE (BLUE MOSQUE), ISTANBUL


The Sultan Ahmad Mosque is a historical mosque in Istanbul the larges city in Turkey. The mosque is one several mosque known as the "Blue Mosque" for the blue tiles adorning the walls of it interior. It was built between 1609 and 1616. It also comprises a tomb of the founder, a madrasah and a hospice.
The design of the Sultan Ahmad mosque is culmination of two centuries of both Ottomon mosque and Byzantine church development. It is made from stone and marble. The decorations include verses from the Quran. The floor are covered with carpets. The Blue Mosque with six minarates visible.
